2019 SS&T Swim Team

SS&T Mock Swim Meet 7/30: CANCELED!

We'll be having a socially-distant swim meet on Thursday 7/30 at 5 PM.  Open to swimmers ages 5-18.  Please fill out this interest form to help us plan.  More details to follow!

Bonus August Swim & Tennis - Registration required

Based on interest from the SS&T community, we are going to continue with both swim and tennis lessons in the first 2 weeks of August, Mon-Thurs. (Tennis teams won't continue but we encourage the kids to organize their own matches!)

These offerings are for all members, renters, and August families.

To have our youth swim & youth tennis instructors available for 2 additional weeks, we will be charging a nominal fee of $10 per child/per week for 2 days (M/W or T/Th) of swim lessons and $10 per child/per week for 2 days (M/W or T/Th) of tennis lessons. There will be no charge for ‘bonus’ adult tennis clinics that will continue until August 13th.

For example, if you have 2 children who were interested in continuing both tennis and swimming for the first week and only tennis lessons for the 2nd week, you would pay:

o Week 1/August 3-August 6:
♣ $10 for child A/swim
♣ $10 for child A/tennis
♣ $10 for child B/swim
♣ $10 for child B/tennis
o Week 2/ August 10-August 13:
♣ $10 for child A/tennis
♣ $10 for child B/tennis
o TOTAL due:  $60

Our preferred payment method is through Venmo: @Sudbury-Swim-Tennis. If you don’t have a Venmo account, checks can be mailed to PO BOX 19. PLEASE indicate on your check and/or in the Venmo payment what you are paying for - child name(s), swim and/or tennis, and for what week(s).

Registration is mandatory for YOUTH programming.  You may register using the links below:

SS&T Summer Swim Program Plan

USA Swimming has released guidelines on how swim programs may begin to re-open safely. In the document, they discuss proper lane etiquette and staggering groups. No use of locker rooms, and swimmers are to come and go in their suit, along with sanitizing before getting in the pool. Swimmers should refrain from touching their faces in and out of the pool (they may adjust their goggles as needed). All swimmers must enter the pool by sitting on the gutter and sliding into the pool; jumping feet first will not be permitted. The pool deck will be taped off as needed to encourage social distancing along with coaches and lifeguards enforcing policies. Children who are sick or were sick in the previous two weeks are prohibited from coming to the pool.

We are recommending two swimmers per lane, starting at opposite ends of the pool every other lane (lanes 1, 3, & 5 would start at the blocks; lanes 2, 4, & 6 would start at the other end of the pool). If needed, swimmers would swim one lap and walk around the pool clockwise, so any standing at the ends of the pool would be every other lane and swimmers would not pass each other while outside the pool. There may also be the case where only one swimmer is allowed per lane, and we will adjust as needed for this scenario.

Swimmers and staff will follow the health guidelines produced by the local and state governments, which may include having swimmers only swimming in one direction and then getting out and walking back as mentioned above, staggering lap swim, or where two swimmers split a lane and stay to their designated side. There will be 3-4 coaches on deck, present at both ends of the pool. Parents will be asked to wait in a designated area that is not part of the pool deck.

  • Ages groups 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13+: families can sign up for

    Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday swim slots.

    • June 22-July31

  • Age group 3-6: families can sign up for various days, including Fridays, giving

this age group two lessons per week. The shallow end, diving well, and lanes will

be used as needed and depending on the day to space out for this age group.

    • NOT UNTIL PHASE 3 ~6/29 (upon Gov. Baker approval) - July 31.

  • There may be a limited number of make-up options on Fridays for children who

miss a lesson during the week. Contact Coach Sarah to schedule a makeup.

  • All sign-ups will be first-come, first-serve through a Sign-Up Genius link.

  • Swimmers will swim for 40 minutes, and there will be a 5-minute passing period

to clear out before the next group starts arriving.

  • The schedule below details the time frames a family can sign their children up for

in an effort to keep them with the appropriate age group/level of training.

There are a few instances where a time slot overlaps age groups to accommodate our large numbers.
If there are siblings within the same age group, it will be encouraged that they share a lane.
